I have no great experience in breaking the wood fro the fire place. The metal on the side of the hammer is dented a little, but I think it is normal given the power that I am using beating metal on metal. However, It does the work perfectly and the trunks I had to split, they had a diameter that varied from 40 to 80 cm.
